Inquiry Blocks

Provided a topic or idea, students work alongside their teachers to craft and investigate deep and driving questions that often lead to more questions, which lead to more questions, and so on... IBs, or Inquiry Blocks, are driven by curiosity, exploration, and the sharing of one’s thinking.

IB 2:

IB 1:

Tuesday 8/16 - Tuesday 8/23

We are starting off the year with a short guided inquiry block. The students had the prompt "What questions do you have about the world around you?". They came up with a bunch of their own questions on sticky notes then posted them into categories around the room. They eventually picked a question that really interested them - whether that was their original question or not. They check in with their advisors daily to help refine their question, assist in research, or simply to gather feedback on what they are learning. On Tuesday, they will assemble into groups and do a quick pop-up presentation to educate others on what they've learned.
